Psychological Services In Sydney – Frequently Asked Questions
How much do you charge for individual counselling sessions?
For individuals, I charge is $185.00 (ex GST) per hour for psychological counselling. (See below for medicare rebates) For my 3- month coaching programme, I charge $2,500 plus GST (upon request). For company referrals, I charge $260 (inc GST) per hour.
Do you do relationship and couples counselling?
Yes. I see couples for relationship counselling for 1.5 hour sessions. The charge is $185.00 per hour (inc GST) per counselling session but I recommend couples sessions are 1.5 hours long.
Can psychological counselling sessions be held on the phone or over the internet?
Counselling sessions can be held on the phone or using skype to accommodate clients who travel. This is also possible when I am out of Sydney. However, I prefer to have seen a client for at least one counselling session in person before working with them over the phone.
Can I apply for Medicare Rebates on my counselling with you? You may be eligible for rebates of $80.20 per session for a limited number of sessions. Check with your GP to see if this applies to you. If yes, I ask you to pay for your sessions in full and then apply for the rebate. I will provide you with a letter to support your application.

Are you registered with any Health Insurers?
I am registered with Medibank Private and their associate companies. If your healthcare plan allows for psychological counselling, I can sign the appropriate papers from the provider so you can receive rebates directly.
Do you use CBT?
I use a variety of approaches to get you unstuck. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is used as an effective tool to assist you in changing your thoughts which directly affect your emotions. CBT can be very effective in the treatment of depression when used in conjunction with exploring ways in which your depression has developed.
