Stress and anxiety are experiences whereby the individual starts feeling overwhelmed and having too much on their plate or feels ‘put upon by others or their own demands’. Over time, stress builds and a number of debilitating physical and emotional symptoms result. If stress continues or is ignored, it can suddenly result in anxiety whereby the person is wracked with panic, fear, worry which extends beyond the original stressor.
Sometimes, anxiety occurs without the build-up of stress and is ignored but is triggered by an event or encounter which the person is unable to decipher since the severity of the anxiety seems unreasonable.
Anyone – in fact everyone at some stage – suffers from stress and anxiety, but instead of seeing it as weakness or inability to cope, see it as an opportunity to make important changes to your life – and deal with unfinished business which keeps ‘rearing its head’ demanding to be resolved.
